Double Line or Corridor Kitchen
If there was no room left, the kitchen can be applied to the passing lane, between one room to another, from living room to the dining room for example. Originally adequate size. Kitchen double line put two work areas, on two opposite walls. Usually people split these two work areas for different purposes. The first work area functioned as a wet kitchen, where food processing activities carried out. Usually in this area is placed stove and sink. Meanwhile, across the area usually used as storage areas, food ingredients and kitchen tools. In this area are usually placed among others: the refrigerator.

Single Line
For the space that really narrow, this design can be applied. Use only one wall to accommodate all activities, ranging from store to process food. This design is the simplest, but arguably the most troublesome. Especially when it relates to storage.
Kitchen single line can not accommodate too many objects. The solution, usually people add a few cabinets in other parts of the room. Able to add a small buffet cabinet, or make a closet. (image by freshome)
